Summer Party Venues in London

As I write this from a freezing cold and snowy Essex, thinking about summer parties venues feels like a lifetime away, event for this event designer!  My big coat is nowhere near ready to be put back in the attic, the thought of being in a bikini sends a shiver down my spine and it feels like the warmth will never return to my toes. However, fear not, summer will be here before we know it and I promise it will get at least 1 degree warmer!
Event months for those of us who are event managers are somewhat like dog years though, so even though it feels like a lifetime away, June will be here before we know it, bringing in summer parties. So grab a Pimm’s, we’ve done the work for you and have a look through our top summer party venues in London:

The City Summer House | E1 5EG | Liverpool St tube

Our first summer party venue in London is a little different. If you mix tiki bars, bean bags, and hog roasts for over 500 people, The City Summer House is the cocktail you’d be blessed with at the end. It, of course, is in the super popular area of Shoreditch, which is still easily accessible from Liverpool Street for out of towners. Their all-inclusive package boasts exclusive hire, unlimited drinks, a cocktail reception, VIP areas and anything else you could possibly want at your summer event. If this sounds a little OTT for you, there are three lesser packages with varying prices to suit ever budget. Best of all, there’s plenty of space in case the British weather decides to do it’s thing.

Madisons | Ec4M 9AF | St Paul’s tube

A long-time favourite and somewhat of a go to for summer parties in London is Madison’s Rooftop, and with good reason too. With a combined capacity of 500, there aren’t many places you can have a refreshing cocktail with breath-taking views of St. Pauls and the London skyline. There is no hire charge, but varying minimum spend meaning you get at least something for every penny. Madison’s are able to provide you with food and beverages, but are very strict in the way of décor. Luckily the view does most of the talking, meaning you don’t need to bring much in. Atmosphere comes easy at Madison’s, making for summer parties to remember.

The Sterling Bar | EC3A 8BF | Aldgate tube

Situated in one of London’s most iconic venues, the Gerkin, The Sterling restaurant boasts plenty of outside space for your summer parties. With an outside capacity of 500, and a wet weather option as standard, the space is undoubtedly flexible and great value for money. Again, there is no hire charge, but a minimum spend which includes a bunch of complimentary extras, such as hosts, cloakroom, and DJ. Except for catering, there is no approved suppliers list, so you are able to be as creative as you’d like. Away from the busy main roads, impress your guests with a crisp welcoming glass of white from their extensive wine collection.

Avenue | SW1A 1EE | Green Park tube

Because British summer doesn’t guarantee sun, Avenue is a great alternative to an outside venue. It’s light and bright space in the middle of Mayfair which gives your party the edge of being in a desirable location. Normally a functioning restaurant, for a fee all furniture can be removed to create a large open space needing no more than a few poseurs. The catering is fixed, however Avenue are fairly flexible on most other professional suppliers, giving the flexibility to design this space into your own. The restaurant and bar can accommodate up to 120 seated or 300 standing, and there’s a private dining room available for groups up to 18.

The IET | WC2R 0BL | Temple tube

In my personal opinion, the IET offers the best view of London. Situated right on the bend of the river, from the roof terrace you can see the wealth of the city to your left, and stunning architecture of Westminster to your right. I couldn’t think of a better location for a summer party. The fourth floor terrace will comfortably hold 300, and is a real blank canvas for you to put your spin on. The only thing that lets this venue down is the wet weather option. It is provided free of charge, but the space is somewhat more boring. However, it’s a risk I’d be willing to take. Nothing beats a sunny evening on a rooftop in London.
