The Human Dignity Trust is a legal charity that supports those who want to challenge anti-gay laws wherever they exist in the world.
Same sex marriages only became legal in the UK & Wales on 13th March 2014, so in the summer of 2014 we wanted to sing and shout about it at our annual LGBT corporate event at The National Portrait Gallery.
Yellow is a great non-gender specific wedding colour that was used throughout the LGBT celebration. Guests were showered with confetti of dried sunflower petals and collected their buttonhole and badges from ladies at reception wearing bright yellow stilettos. A cascade of yellow pom-poms hung from the ceiling and an 11m bar was created in vibrant yellow PVC. Waiting staff dressed in hand-made bow ties made by a talented fashion grad student in Scotland between lectures! Guests were treated to Summer Pimms Cocktails, seasonal canapes decorated with edible flowers and Rainbow tiered wedding cake for dessert.
The whole evening had a bright, energetic and positive vibe, 80’s pop sensation Sinitta even performed one of her party hits which had guests dancing the night away.
