Charity events are a particular favourite for us to produce, here at event planners Mango Pie. Launched in the House of Commons in November 2011, Diversity Role Models (DRM), has become one of the UK’s most important anti-bullying charities and aims to end homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools. A charity that as event planners we are proud, and of course honoured, to be a part of.
In October 2014 DRM hosted their third annual Carnival, an important fundraising event. The event was attended by corporate and individual supporters, service provision partners, and celebrities from the LGBT community.
The opulent Café de Paris was the perfect setting to hold a carnival inspired event. The evening was hosted by Diversity Role Model patron Clare Balding with a live silent auction taking place later in the evening. A variety of exciting prizes were on offer especially for art lovers, prizes included works by Maggi Hambling, Jonathan Yeo as well as a signed lithograph by Salvador Dali. Guests were entertained by an aerial artist and a special performance by Heather Small of M People. Drinks were provided by Grey Goose and guests feasted on a variety of delicious canapés provided by Café de Paris.
